Often we are asked: Why get a visual estimate when other moving companies are trying to sell me their business over the phone? All My Sons Moving and Storage of Chicago is a trustworthy source for accurate quotes, especially when one of our talented estimators comes to your home and visually estimates your move. Especially when you are moving a large home or moving long distance, it is imperative that somebody take a look at all it is that you are moving. I can anticipate that you would be wondering “Why?” Many disreputable and inexperienced local companies in the Chicago area will try to sell you with a bait-and-switch low price versus a competitively priced quality move will almost always tell you any price to get your business. But, beware! They will be quick to sell you a price over the phone without ever looking at what you have.
When you are moving long distance, your move is based on the weight of your move as well as how far it is going. For accuracy, our highly experienced estimators will come to your home and take an inventory of the goods that you are moving. While we are able to sometimes give a very general ballpark estimate of what the cost may be over the phone, it is so much better for us to visually see what you have. For instance, it is easy for us to ask what you are moving, and a normal response is “a bed, a couch, some boxes, a kitchen table, etc.” A single bed on a basic metal frame weights a lot less than a queen sized bed with a wooden frame and canopy. A love seat made of feathers weighs a lot less than an overstuffed, eight foot couch. And, a small, breakfast style kitchen table with two chairs would be handled and weigh differently from a fifteen foot, glass top table with a metal base. It is always hard for us to guesstimate how much “some” boxes will weigh versus being able to see that you have 50 various sized boxes that are packed full. Since we are able to see exactly what you have, we can give you a fair, honest quote with a quality mover. Let us leave a great first impression with you by doing a visual estimate!
A large, local move is also a great time for us to introduce ourselves through a visual estimate. Local moves are based on the amount of men we send to your home (which is determined by the estimated weight that is at your home) and how long it takes them to complete your job. It is easy for us to estimate many of the calls we receive over the phone since most require a two or three man team, but a move that would require anything more than that should be seen by an estimator. This is because a four or more man team usually means there is a lot of weight at the starting home, and there is probably some specialty or heavy items that will need some special attention. Our experienced estimators can see how to effectively protect the items and make sure adequate man power is sent to handle all the weight. This will allow us to demonstrate our efficiency to you by giving a fair and honest quote based upon what you have.
Even if you are a first time mover without a lot of goods, it is nice to have the reassurance of an estimator come to your home and explain the process to you in person. We are high quality, full service, professional movers that can calm all your moving fears. Best of all, our visual estimates are free of charge! Don’t let a lot of the internet based movers fool you – they will bait you with a low price over the phone, often without gathering a lot of information from you about your move, and then switch their price once it comes time to pay the bill. Be an informed consumer and check out the movers you are considering. Even get a few estimates: if a price seems too good to be true, it probably is! The reputable moving companies in the Chicago area will have a similar quote - and why not use the company that uses modern moving with old fashioned care: All My Sons Moving and Storage of Chicago! We have a lot of local moving experience and knowledge behind what we do to make your move a smooth experience.
All My Sons Moving and Storage of Chicago prefers to be up-front and honest about our prices so that you know what to expect. Moving is stressful enough, and we don’t want you to be stressed over the price when it is time to pay. We are fast, courteous, efficient, careful, professional local movers in Chicago as well as your trusted movers going long distance.

Getting to know your moving needs
When you call All My Sons Moving and Storage of Chicago, you will be greeted by one of our friendly customer service representatives. We know that you will have a lot of questions regarding your move, especially if you are a first time mover. Interestingly, we will have a lot of questions for you too! To be able to effectively quote you and answer all your questions, we will need to know all about what you are moving. Some of the most common questions we ask are:
-What type of residence are you moving? (a house, an apartment, a townhouse)
-How many rooms are you moving?
-Are your rooms well furnished or lightly furnished?
-Are there any elevators we will be using or a long walk to where we would park the truck?
-Do you have any items such as a fish tank, grandfather clock, big screen television, a piano, or a pool table that will need special attention?
-What is the heaviest item you are moving?
-Do you need any assistance packing your goods?
-What are your concerns that I can address?
These questions will lead us to make a recommendation on how many men to send to you. Moving a one bedroom apartment has different variables than moving a five bedroom mansion. There can even be variables that are different when we move in the city and in the suburbs (such as parking restrictions). The more we know you and the type of move you are doing, the better we can accommodate you!
If you have a large home that is 3 bedrooms or more, we recommend having one of our estimators coming out to you at no charge to give you a written estimate. We recommend this because it is easier to pinpoint an estimate for you and we can get a better idea of how many men to send. A picture can be worth a thousand words in this situation, and it is at no cost to you, so there is no risk involved. We can even provide an on-site estimate if you are moving a little amount of goods. Often times if a budget is tight or you have never moved before, it can be a reassurance to have an estimate in writing based on what our professional estimators see that you are moving.

Why choose All My Sons of Chicago?
All My Sons of Chicago is a premier local moving company in Chicago. We are licensed and insured and only have full time, professional employees who work directly for us. We understand the quality and service you expect from a local and long distance moving company, and we work to exceed your expectations.
Being in a bear economy, we understand that many of our customers are concerned about the cost of a move. We have competitive rates that are reasonable and fair for superior service over the competition. There are a lot of local moving companies in the Chicago area that will try and sell you at a very low rate - you should beware of companies like these! The low price is often a bait and switch tactic. They will either take an unusually long time to finish your move or employ nonprofessional movers who will likely cause damage to your goods since they will not know how to properly protect and pack your goods. Both of these things will cost you more money in the end. We are efficient movers who take care of you and your belongings. This is one of the reasons All My Sons has remained a successful local moving company, even in a dismal economy. This is how we save you money!
At All My Sons Moving and Storage of Chicago, we believe in providing you a service that you will be able to recommend to your family and friends. All My Sons Moving and Storage has been moving people locally and long distance for generations, and we take pride in knowing you are a satisfied customer.

Use All My Sons for a safe, secure move
Thinking of moving yourself? Here’s how All My Sons makes your move safer than a self move!
When we do the heavy lifting, you have no risk of injury. Our professional local movers are trained professionals and they are covered by workman’s compensation insurance in case of injury. There is no risk on your part.
Our vehicles are safely equipped with moving pads and logistic straps, so your furniture is safe and secure when it is on its journey to your new destination. With a self move, you are not always guaranteed that equipment when renting a truck or using your friends SUV. Our moving vans are specially made for this type of work, so rest assured they are maintained in accordance with regulatory standards for key optimum performance and safety.
When you add up the costs of doing the move yourself, (rental truck, fuel, equipment, toll money, YOUR TIME, phone bills tracking down your friends on move day), you can be sure that your money might be spent more safely on letting the professionals at All My Sons Moving and Storage of Chicago handle your local move or even a long distance move!
Let us do the lifting and you eat the pizza yourself!
